Sage Sisters: Financial Freedom, Investing, and Money as Self-Care with Stephanie Xenos aka The Money Muse

On the Sage Sisters podcast, Stephanie chats with self-proclaimed “sorority bitches turned wellness witches” Haily and Meghan about reframing negative money mindsets, gender equality, and her method of coaching women toward financial independence.

Right off the bat, the hosts admit to feeling “wildly uncomfortable” when talking - or even thinking - about money. Stephanie explains that we commonly associate the numbers in our bank account with our intrinsic worth as humans. Women in particular are apt to feel greedy or selfish for taking care of their money, but Stephanie encourages her clients to examine and reframe these limiting beliefs. For women, she says, having money is similar to having access to birth control: both give you power and options that can change your life.

After detailing her own path to retirement at 32, Stephanie explains that you don’t have to live off top ramen like the “white nerdy dudes” who started the FIRE movement if you want to reach financial independence. Stephanie also paints a picture of her typical coaching sessions: she tackles income, expenses, assets, and debts, and focuses on spending plans (rather than traditional budgets) so her clients can put their money toward their priorities.

If all that money talk isn’t enough, Stephanie gives a steamy recommendation for how to unwind after putting in the hard work on your finances. Check out the episode “Financial Freedom, Investing, and Money as Self-Care with Stephanie Xenos aka The Money Muse” on The Sage Sisters podcast here!
